A Happy End of Calculus Dance

Calculus B.C. is over, thank goodness. Unfortunately, I can't discuss the questions, as I signed an affidavit (I actually don't think that it is an affidavit, it's just that I'm rather fond of that word. Too bad I don't know what it means) that I wouldn't.

The nice part about calc is that I got to leave school early after the test was finished. Naturally, The Diner was the chosen destination. Nyx and I left school and headed out. I got out first, and, seeing a car approaching from the direction of the typically closed side entrance, elected to take the shorter exit route. Just as I was pulling in, a freckled arm emerged from the window of the small car and began to make an odd sort of wave.

The car drew level with me and Boris called out "Go back. It's closed!"

He then drove away. I made a twelve point turn (as Nyx described it "I was going to go that way, but Tea's truck was sideways.") and exited by the more accepted route, where the security guard was, per usual, not bothering to check anybody's school-leaving-identification.

Excited. Exited. Two words that are spelled far too much alike. Regardless, I got to the diner without missing the turn (which Sergio, reportedly, did). I waited stood outside of the diner with Boris until Nyx showed up, then spent the time getting a table trying to explain to the hostess how I didn't know how many people were in my party.

By the time we hit the tables, we were seven strong. Upon discovering that only six fit in the booth we had, four people went to the second table (Sergio was, I believe, following Gnatta, which he can't seem to bring himself to stop doing. Then again, I still do the same to Mario, so I can't talk). Tybalt stayed with Nyx and I despite an announcement that "there was nobody at this table."

Apparently Nyx and I aren't people. Thanks, Tybalt. Thanks a lot.

Anyways, Mario and Dino soon arrived, Dino's speech replete with complaints about Mario's driving, to which Mario's response was "at least I drive better than Irving." Honestly, the amount he talks about him, its no wonder we joke about their nocturnal activities.

Nyx and I spent at least some portion of the lunch laughing at the way Mario wriggled his hands about (look! I'm flexing my finger muscles!) while speaking. Tybalt also finally formulated the perfect Dino-directed response for "Where's Kathrya?" which is one of his favorite questions. "Where's Lauretta?" seems to be functioning quite well.

Math Class (the jokes on who?)

Today, I walked into calculus late.

This is not surprising, as I frequently walk into class late. On this particular occasion, I was late because I had to print out my note packets for class. I printed a spare for Nyx, ended up giving it to Jeremy, and then none of us needed them in the first place because the seniors were getting a class picture taken, so Mrs. James had elected to spend the entire class period communicating with the juniors.

As I was saying, I got to class, and, as I'm sitting down, I notice Mario and his freshly-cut hair (I told him last week that it looked good. I'm not certain that it does, but don't tell him I said so) and then sit in my normal seat, next to Gretchen.

"Guess who's he-re" said Nyx.

"I already noticed."

"Really?" asked Gretchen.

"Are you that surprised?"

I got a small laugh for that one.

I'm going to spare you a play-by-play of the entire class period and give a few highlights instead.

Mario then spent roughly fifteen minutes repeatedly taking the square roots of random numbers just to prove he could. He then tried to teach the rest of us how to do so, although I blatantly ignored his explanation and Boris claimed it was unnecessary (Boris was wrong).

At one point, Bryant was fiddling with something on his ipod. I think this is primarily because prolonged separation from technological devices is damaging to his health. Mrs. James started ribbing him a bit.

"Bryant how did you get on that site in school?"

"Huh?"

"He must have used a proxy. That's what they're called, proxies, websites that let you access other-" said Boris.

"I can show you what I was on if you want."

"I really don't think she needs to see that," advised Jeremy.

"Oh, I wouldn't wouldn't worry about it," said Mario. "He can't really get into it without the sound."

Gretchen and I nearly died. As Tybalt said later, "I laughed so hard that I went lightheaded."

"What time do you think the seniors are getting back?" asked Mrs. James.

"Never."

"Yeah, definitely never."

"But I was going to teach!"

"What's the next chapter on, polar or something, right?" said Sergio.

"Yes, polar," answered Bryant.

"I remember polar," said Mario.

"Which one is that?"

"The circular graphs, with the Rs and thetas."

"Oh, THOSE. The butt graphs," said Jeremy.

"They don't look like butts," said Mrs. James.

"Oh, yes they do." Jeremy went to the board and drew a graph that looked rather like this, but turned sideways. "There's the right cheek." He wrote RC on that side. "The left cheek," he said, writing LC, "and I think we all know what that one is."

"I still don't think it looks like a butt," said Mrs. James.

"No, you're drawing the wrong graph," said Mario, jumping up from the seat he'd stolen from the invisible person who sits there ordinarily and taking Jeremy's marker. He drew something rather like this, but turned sideways, and with the upward facing petal elongated and the other two squished up so that it looked like certain male anatomy.

"Okay, that does not look like that at all!" exclaimed Mrs. James. "It is a three petaled rose, not a, a, a-"

"Penis?" somebody filled in.

"It's a thee petaled rose! And the petals are all the same size, like this-" she redrew it"-not like that AT ALL!"

I must say, I adore her for being more upset about the mathematical wrong than the impropriety.

More Silly Questions for Funsies

If you could go anywhere in the world with Nyx, where would you go?
It wouldn't matter where, so long as I was with her. But preferably somewhere that one of us is able to communicate in.

Is Rube the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?
Of course. I wouldn't be friends with him otherwise.

If Nyx died, what would you do?
I don't even want to think about that.

Would you tell Ginny honestly how you felt?
Of course I would! God knows I've done so often enough in the past.

If Genie said he/she loved you, what would you do?
Hug her.

Is Boris old fashioned?
I don't know, but I'm going to say yes.

What is Genie's greatest wish?
To find the perfect lemon-related recipe.

How big is Julie's bed?
Approximately the size of Argentina.

What music do you think Mario is listening to right now?
I have a feeling he's still reading his "The Physics of Semiconductors" textbook and thus doesn't have time for music. Either that or his power is out and his ipod is dead and he's holed up at Starbucks waiting for a miracle.

What are the last 4 digits in Kathrya's cellphone number?
I have absolutely no idea. I'm clearly a horrible friend.

What was the last thing Boris ate when you were with him/her?
I have never seen Boris eat. Or, if I have, I don't remember it.

When was the last time you hugged Dino?
Never....

Does Julie have any relatives in jail?
Probably. I mean, if you extend the relatives far enough, it's impossible for her not to.

Have Kathrya and Boris ever gone cow-tipping together?
No. I can't imagine Boris cow-tipping. I can't imagine Kathrya being that mean to an innocent little bovine. So, no.

What's Dino's worst pet peeve?
Being told that his voice sounds like a robot.

What movie would you watch with Genie?
Whatever she feels like watching.

She probably blow-dries it sometimes, but probably not all that often.

Have you ever gone to the beach with Genie?
Oh, once or twice.

Does Nyx ever go fishing?
She'd rather sail, but she's up for anything.

Do you like Boris's hands or feet better?
Ummmm......

Does Mario have curly hair or straight hair?

Water...?

What's Dino's favorite book?
The Land Before Time. I don't care if it isn't a book.

Did Gretchen grow up here?
Not originally, but after a point.

Which are Genie's top bands or singers?

What school activities does Mario participate in?
Math team. With me. That is actually purely coincidental- I joined first.

Where was Boris born?
Somewhere.

Does Rube have any siblings?
I don't know. I don't think so, as I've mentioned my sisters plenty of times but he's never mentioned any, but it's always possible.

Where did Mario go for vacation in the summer?
I don't know. He did that summer thing in Boston, though, does that count?

What job does Dino want to do when he/she grows up?
Truth-Speaker, but unfortunately for him, that profession doesn't exist in the real world.

What do you think Mario has on his/her bedside table?
A picture of Scarlett.

Again, no clue.

What is your idea of a hot romantic date with Ginny?
We can do math packets. Romantically.

What is Nyx's favorite color?
Yellow. Sometimes.

Have you ever fallen in love with Mario?
Love is a strong word. Like? Lust? Sure. Love is a bit harder to define.

What is the thing you love most about Julie?
She always, always has something nice to say, and is far kinder to me than I deserve, and is totally smart, to boot.

Did you ever dislike Mario?
Yes. Yes yes yes. He was so so so so annoying.

If Julie had a lot of money, where would he/she go on vacation?
Somewhere fun.

What are Ginny's major goals in life?
Write something awesome. Figure out what she wants to do with her life then do it. Accumulate large quantities of sparkles.

Has Julie ever lied to me and if so, why?
White lies, if any. Beyond that no.

Do you see yourself with Gretchen in another year, 3 years, 5 or so?
Yes, yes and yes. Even if we aren't in the same place, we are going to keep in touch.

If you have the chance, what would you probably say to Boris?
Please go away.

The whole multiple-personalities thing.

Which colors does Mario wear the most?
I'm not sure. Yes, I can categorize his wardrobe, but there's no one color that dominates.

Have you ever seen Genie sad?
Yes.

Are you afraid to lose Rube?
Not really? I mean, I like him, he's my friend and all, but I could soldier on alone if he decided to go his separate way.

If Boris won $1 million, what would he/she do?
Buy something. Then invest it. He's boring like that. Boring Boris.

Can you share 3 good points about Nyx?
She's persistent, insightful, and loyal.

Do Gretchen and Rube hate each other?
They haven't met.

Christmas is coming, would you want to celebrate it with Dino?
Isn't he Jewish? But sure, if he wants to help my dad carry that ridiculously heavy tree, he's welcome to it.

Is Rube a shopaholic or no?
I highly doubt it. As addicted to the internet as me? Yes. Shopping, not so much.

Name one of Mario's body parts you simply love?
Hands. Well, and forearms, which kind of includes hands. And his hair on Saturday, but I'm not sure "I like this part when wet" is a legitimate answer.

Which is Kathrya's favorite season?
Summer, probably. No, winter. No, summer. No, winter.

What place would you like to visit with Kathrya that you haven't been to yet?
Again, anywhere she wants to go as long as she's with me.

What is Nyx's most prized possession?
The yellow pants. I mean, seriously, those are sick. Alternately, her boat.

Another Stolen Questionnaire

They make me happy.

1. With black hair: Ginny, darling.
2. Younger than you: Genie
3. In your class: Gretchen
4. One of your best friends: Kathrya, as the others show up elsewhere.
5. Older than you: if Mario wasn't conspicuously located below, I'd pop him in here. I think I'll use Dino instead, since he just turned older than me last week.
6. That lives close to you: Nyx
7. With curly hair: Julie, of course
8. That lives far away: Rube, I suppose.
9. You are unduly fond of: Mario. As if that's news to anyone.
10. You dislike: Rachel. Which is silly- I am, clearly, so much better than her, I shouldn't expend the energy. Boris, then. He's infinitely more dislikable.

How old is Gretchen?
Sweet sixteen, just like me. Until soon! yay!

Are Mario and Ginny friends?
Not really, no. Actually, I'm not certain I've ever heard them have a conversation. I haven't heard him say anything mean about her, though. I mean, he doesn't generally say unduly mean things unless he's around Irving and Irving is saying mean things, but I can't say that Irving talks about Ginny, so no.

Does Genie have any pets?
Yup. A dog. Coincidentally, it is identical to my dog.

Why do you love Kathrya?
Because she's always willing to offer a hug or a kind word, and can make me laugh even when I'm crying.

Does Dino hate Kathrya?
Oh, most definitely. As he said today: ewwww Kathrya. I don't like Kathrya. (although that was more because I pointed out that he'd said her name without insulting her in the same sentence).
What is Nyx's weakness?
That spot on her neck that everyone has where you pass out if somebody pushes it.

Where does Boris go to school?
Paperclip High, conmigo.

Who do you talk to more, Genie or Rube?
Genie, easily.

In how many years does Julie turn 21?
Uh...*counts on fingers* 5?

Whats Dino's favourite band?
The Land Before Time. We can pretend that's a band, right?

Would you ever have sex with Ginny?
Oh, yes. Mad, passionate sex. With, uh, passion. And stuff.

How far away does Gretchen live from you?
Not particularly distant.

Do you hang out with Rube a lot?
On Saturdays, at class. I'd go to pizza with him afterwards, but then I'd either have to pay for my own cab or miss the train, which just isn't going to work.

Who is crazier, Nyx or Mario?
It depends on how you define crazy. But Mario under more definitions.

How long have you known Kathrya?
Since sophomore year gym class.

Does Genie like Boris?
Genie doesn't know him, but I highly doubt she'd like him.

How old is Ginny?
My age.

Ha. Ha. Haaaaaaa. No.

Is Mario related to you?
No, fortunately.

Let's not talk quite so slowly.

What colour of hair does Kathrya have?
Blonde. Flaxen? I don't know what flax really looks like.

Nyxie is my bffl-ie

Yes. He probably even had school today. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Where does Julie live?
Across town.

Mario have any siblings?
Yup, mini-mario, the younger, taller, angrier counterpart.

What sports does Dino play?
Tennis. And math. Because math is a sport.

Have you ever held hands with Ginny?
No. No, I have not.

What kind of eyes does Kathrya have?
Blue ones. They're very pretty.

Have Nyx and Rube ever dated?
They haven't even met.

Have you ever seen Dino cry?
No. Now that would be interesting.

Do you have any classes with Boris?
Yes, sadly. Calculus. Woe is me.

Does Dino drink alcohol?
He likes to pretend that he does.

When is Nyx birthday?
ENERO!

If you had to go out on a date with Gretchen, where would you go?
THE MOOOOON!

Does Mario like to shop?
Considering the only time his wardrobe changes in Christmas, I highly doubt it.

How often does Kathrya go online?
Frequently.

Are Dino and Mario childhood buddies?
I don't think so...

Is Julie usually late, early or right on time?
I'd say on time.

Do you think Rube is happy with his/her life for the most part right now?
Probably, but I don't really know. Maybe parts of it.

Do you trust Julie?
Most definitely.

Explicit Conversations (PENIS!)

Gretchen, you may prefer not to read these.

I was sitting at a table in the library with Tybalt, Kathrya, Boris, and Bryant during my free today. Eccentrius came over, sat on the table, and began talking to Martin. I was listening a little to Tybalt and Kathrya, and Bryant was doing homework. Eccentrius leaned over to Boris and said, "hey, do you know Martin?

"Yeah, why?" responded Boris.

"Have you seen him?"

"I said I know him."

"No. Have you seen him."

Boris simply looked at him.

"Martin" said Eccentrius, in something between a stage whisper and his normal voice,
"has a big penis."

"What?"

"His dick is huge! Seriously."

"Why would you say something like that?"

"Because it's true!"

"Right, like you would know."

"Oh. I know."

"What, do you look at him in the locker room or something?"

"You don't?"

"Of course not!"

"Why not?"

"It's weird!"

At that point, I started cracking up and leaned over into Kathrya, interrupting her conversation with Tybalt. She joined my hysterical laughter for a moment before asking what was so funny.

"I'll tell you later," I wheezed.

A bit later, after Eccentrius had, much to Boris's relief, left, Kathrya said something about Mario and his man-crush on Irving and added that Tybalt had some support for that, leading him to launch into a story from his weekend:

So, on Saturday, we were all hanging out working on the challenge stuff, and Mario was on facebook, and, right before he x-ed out, Irving came over and wrote in his status is considering cock? but Mario didn't notice and closed the window anyways. Then the rest of us were cracking up, and he was like "What? What? What's funny?" and someone told him to check his facebook. He opened it up and, completely straight-faced, he read the message. He didn't react at all- he just clicked on it and replaced it with is sucking Irvings fat brown dick and closed the window. We were staring at him and said "Mario, you know people can see that, right?" and he was like, eh, whatever, they won't think it's me. Then, about ten minutes later, Irving gets a text from Melissa telling him he ought to look at Mario's status.

End of story.

Avoidance

I'd been avoiding writing about SHP, mostly because, although Melissa, Irving, and Mario haven't objected to my joining their little group, I can tell that they really wouldn't mind if I wasn't there. Not that that's some huge issue- there are now seven or so people on the train, so one or two missing wouldn't make that much difference. It's more this general dislike of them that's developing after listening to them bad mouth virtually every other smart person. I'm exaggerating really, and they're probably people I wouldn't like either For instance, I am perfectly willing to join discussions about how ridiculous Boris is, but even so, Boris doesn't really bother me, he just kind of is. I think maybe I'm just a bit less sensitive to ingratiating behavior. I mean, I can barely remember why I dislike Gnatta at this point, and even Dino, cruel as he may be, is bearable.

Funny how much nicer Mario seemed last year, when it was just him. Right now, his comments about freshman girls (See that black Nissan? There's a bed in the back. You up for it?), let alone the one's about middle schoolers ("I was hoping I misheard you, but, no, Mario, that is not an option," in Archie's words) are mostly making me want to punch him. Granted, this may be a defense mechanism designed to get me over him faster, and perhaps indicates that some portion of my subconscious has finally come to terms with the futility of it all, but maybe he was just a dick and I didn't notice it before, or this may be a statement about how nasty people become when put in groups, or about how males, when confronted with societal expectations, feel the need to act like nasty bastards.

I'm not sure, to be honest.

Dartmouth

Oh my goshness. You will not believe who I saw at Dartmouth. Actually, on second thought, you totally will. On my list of people who would be looking at colleges right now, he's one of the top ones. Anyways, I'll give the rundown of the tour first, and you can wonder about who he is until I reach him.

First thing this morning, the whole family piled into the car and we drove about forty minutes to the campus, then Mom took the car and parked and the rest of us went looking for the admissions center. We found it fairly easily, and I, of course, immediately went looking for the bathroom. As I went looking, three different people pointed me in the right direction without me even having to ask. It was so nice and friendly (dontcha know). Then we went up the stairs and went into a room for the orientation/talking part. A Chinese woman (and I say she was Chinese because she said that she majored in Chinese, not just using Chinese as a euphemism for Asian. I suppose, for all I know, she could have actually not been Chinese, and just studied it, but most likely...) who looked a bit like Bette gave this whole talk about how Dartmouth works, with the classes after Sophomore year taking place during the summer, and four ten-week terms during the year, of which each student takes three, and study abroad programs for credit, and internships for students, and faculty availability, and on and on and on about all of this awesome awesome stuff. Shelby was bored out of her mind, but I thought it was all fascinating.

Then we went outside and formed tour guide groups. Two girls and two guys introduced themselves. The first one was a neuroscience major, the next was also a neuroscience major, and he was on the ski team. The other guy was majoring in Geography, and then the last girl said she studied math and computer science and played piano in a chamber group. When they told us to break into groups, Mom poked me. "Where to?"

"Math major!" I said, walking over there. The geography major called after us, "where are you going? You don't want to join my tour?"

"I let her pick," said my Mom, and that was that.

The tour guide began by asking us to warn her before she walked into anything, which she often does, and I pretty much liked her from there. She talked more about the school, and the classes, and the good food, and the diverse political leanings of the student body, and that New Hampshire is a swing state, so political candidates come through, and there are GRAND PIANOS (OMG) in practice rooms for whoever wants them, pretty much, and the science facilities are great, and undergrads participate in research, and performances at the art center, and so much else. The one thing I don't like is that 55% of the population is involved in the Greek system, and she said that during fall of sophomore year, when that 55% is rushing, it sure can feel like a lot, but one you remember that there are plenty of other people who aren't involved, and that all Greek events are open to the public, it's really not that bad. Anyways, I know it's freezing all winter, and the social scene may not be perfect, but I love it. The whole school. Right now, I want to go there rather badly. I hope I don't fall in love with every school I visit, because I feel like that would be a bit of a problem.

Oh, anyways, after the tour, as I was leaving, I saw Boris. "Tea!" he said.

"Boris!" I responded.

"Tea was in my math and science research class last year," he said, slowly, as usual. Then our parents talked for a bit, (Boris was a rowing camp! And we just had to stop by!) his mom seemed nice, but he spent the entire time inching away towards the door. Maybe this means he'll stop trying to talk to me. After he was out of earshot, I said to Mom. "That's the guy who talks really slow."

"Oh!" said Genie, "I remember him."

"He seemed like he wanted to get away," said Mom.

"Yeah. Pretty much. It's funny, cause we're generally pretty friendly, I just don't like him very much."

"You don't?"

"He's irritating."

So anyways, I saw Boris, and I still find him irritating, and I saw Dartmouth, and I loved it.

Cookies

This is written during my ASR final. It took me an hour, because Boris kept distracting me.
Stupid Boris.

I walked down the hallway, giggling to myself. As I entered the cafeteria, who did I see but Mario, sitting at a table in the freshman section, eating an omelet, friend who thinks he’s gangster in tow (I have got to come up with a nickname for that kid).
He waved, and I waved. I debated walking past and leaving it at that, but I decided I should at least talk to him. I walked over. “Hi, Mario.”
“Hey.”
“This is going to sound kind of weird, but your portfolio has typos.”
“What?”
“Well, I was reading your portfolio, because you had totally stolen my topic.”
“You did physics?”
“No, science, actually. Well, science classes.”
“Okay. You read mine? Did you like the jokes?”
“Yeah, they were funny. Actually, on mine, I only have one joke, but I put in something saying, oh, at least I only have one joke instead of a whole page.”
“Yours has jokes, too?”
“Only one.”
“So where was this typo? Was it in the first section? The second? Wait- was it in the jokes?”
“Well, um…”
He looked at me.
“Well, we found some reflection thing, and, well, we spent most of the time going ‘haha, Mario said “breasts”’”
Gangsta boy snickered, and Mario looked at him. “That does sound like something I would say, doesn’t it.” He turned to me. “The one with the really long title?”
“Long enough that I couldn’t understand it.”
“Well, I only really wrote one reflection. What did you think of it?”
“It was, um, interesting…”
“Interesting?”
“I was busy laughing at the word use.”
“So what were these typos?”
“Well, I caught three of them.”
“Were they noticeable?”
“It was the first word.”
“Really?” He leaned over to the trash can and tossed his plate and the remainder of his omellete.
“Yeah, you said I when you meant it.”
“Oh no. And Opmin has probably already read it.”
“Vicky said that she hadn’t.”
“Good- wait. When was this?”
“This morning.”
“Yes! You said there were more.”
“Yeah, the one I said before, then one where you put women and beautiful in the wrong order, and one more. I can’t remember the last one though.”
“Alright. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. I should probably get to science.”
“Yeah.”
We paused for a second.
“Did you finish your paper yet?” he said.
“What paper? There’s a paper?” Did I miss something for U.S.? AAAAhhhhhh!
“The ASR paper.”
“Oh, yeah, I finished it a while ago.”
“You did.”
“Yeah, Breese had us write them a while ago, back in, like, April.”
“That’s lucky. Mine’s not done.”
“I suppose, but I switched my topic in, like, April, so it was kind of a pain.”
Mario shrugged.
We paused another moment.
“Oh, do you want a cookie?” I asked.
He turned to gangsta friend. “You want a cookie?”
Gangsta boy shrugged. “Nah.”
Mario considered it for a moment. “I can’t pass up a cookie,” he said, and stood.
I laughed and pulled them out of my bag. “Here. They’re chocolate chip.”
“Thanks. They look good.”
“I made them myself. Also, I really need to go to science now.
“See you later,” we both said, at exactly the same time.
I left, carrying my cookies. As I reached the end of the ramp, I saw Carly, from my math class. “Do you want a cookie?”
“Okay.”
Then, I saw my grandmother. “Cookie? I keep giving them to people, and I think I’m going to run out soon.”
“Well, you can’t ignore your grandmother.”
I kept walking, and then I saw Ginny. “Ginny! Cookie?”
“Thanks. What do you have.”
“ASR. Walk with me?”
“Sure. These are good.”
“Thank you. I even added the right amount of flour this time.”
“Good job. Do you normally not?”
“Well, last time I only added a cup, and they were kind of flat. Oh, I am going to be so late to science. I was talking to Mario, and I go sidetracked, which I, erm, tend to do…”
“Haha.”
Then, I saw Nyx and Avon. “Hi! Nyx! You know how yesterday I was talking to Vicky about Mario, and we were all, omg! Typos!”
“Yeah…”
“I told Mario!”
“You did not.”
“I did!”
“You’ll have to tell me more later.”
“Okay. Bye!”

Flag bomb up finger pencil

I don't actually have anything OMG! worthy to say, but I really wanted to use the webdings for speaking purposes. Actually...
Hello! I'm writing in WEBDINGS. Actually, it turns out tht OMG! is really ear, sunrise, monument, spider, but really, who cares?

returning to normalcy, now.
I'm trying to think of what interesting things occurred today. Hmmmm....
In ASR, which is basically a free period at this point, Theo, Adrian, Kerry and Garrett found a 'bullet' from Adrian's A.P. assassination gun that had been previously lost. Sam then had the genius idea of rigging up the smart board to have a target, then throwing the dart at the board to make marks. Unfortunately for almost everyone involved, Garrett has inhuman dart throwing abilities, so it wasn't much of a contest. Boris threw a fit because the objects being thrown weren't tethered, and according to the A.S.R. rules, all projectiles must be tethered. He was, however, overridden by Dr. Breese, who found the entire situation hysterical.
We played football on the turf field with our socks on, and Berk, who does have his funnier moments, devised 'bowling,' a game in which ten of the guys line up like bowling pins and he rolls a football at them. When it touches the person in the front, all ten fall over on top of each other, moaning dramatically.
After gym, I left my sweatshirt, bag, and lunchbox in the cafeteria and went to pick up my yearbook, as I left, I saw, immediately in front of me, Mario. I bounced forward with a cheerful "Hi!" and other portions of our brief conversation are recorded below.
T: Hi!
M: Hello. How are you?
T: *thinks for a second* pretty good, thanks.
M: You got a yearbook?
T: Yes
-brief small talk ensues for about 10 feet, until the cafeteria comes into view-
M: Oh!
T: yes?
M: Do you know what lunch spanish has?
T: Um...
M: It's first, right?
T: Third.
M: Really?
T: Really.
M: oops. I guess first was last month.
T: Yeah
-it actually wasn't, but I didn't have the heart to tell him that-
M: bye
-Mario does a complete 180 and heads towards Spanish, for which he is already late-
