Hugs

First, a quote, courtesy of Otis in my English class.
"If nobody voted, there would be no votes."

Now, onto current events. According to this article, hugs are the latest social trends. Apparently, we teenagers hug everybody, all the time. Now, I may not be the coolest kid on campus, but I'm not blind, and I definitely do not see that much hugging. Yes, I do hug a few of my closest friends, but I'm hardly a hugging maniac, and I haven't really noticed other people hugging excessively.

Thoughts?

a "3-second rule" for hugging?! do teachers go around with stopwatches? i could totally see Loco going around counting, "one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH, BREAK IT UP!!!"
i'd rather hug someone than text them (well, let's be real here, there ARE exceptions...) but in general, if it is someone i like, that's true. but i still wouldn't consider myself a hug fiend. also, since when are people who don't hug considered weird? why should we be wary of them? i mean, kids with three knives in their backpacks, yes, but non-huggers?!

HAHAHA....funny article...what I think is the worst is the "Take-Up-the-Entire-Width-of-the-Hallway-Hugger"
I'm sure you've seen them...the type who stop dead center in the middle of the hallway, spread their arms out so that their total area is at least 6ft, then go in for an obviously-longer-than-3 sec hug...

The other problem with hugs is the dramatic height difference. It's fine for my family, since we're all pretty short, but, Tea, when it comes to hugging someone like you, I only come up to about boob height which presents itself with a strange/awkward situation...

well, seeing as I'm somewhat lacking in the boob department, that shouldn't be a significant issue.

tea, this article reminds me of the time that guy came up to you randomly in the hallway and tried to hug you...maybe it was just a manifestation of the effects of electronic communication on our generation....
