Science Symposium

Well, the science symposium left me feeling like a socially stunted retard. I blame the fact that many of the other sophomores are not true science geeks, so I find them somewhat unrelatable. Also, both Julie and Mario weren't in attendance, which was highly unfortunate.
At one point, I was standing awkwardly by myself, looking at someone's poster, when Kerry comes over and is like, "Tea, want to see a totally awesome poster?" and I'm like, "Well, it beats standing around by myself. Not that I have no friends, it's just that Julie isn't here, and Minnie has better people to talk to, I guess." Well, that doesn't sound remotely pathetic. "Great!" "Whose poster?" "Lysander's."
So, Kerry leads me over to Lysander's poster. He starts talking about his project, which is actually even more boring than standing by myself, and Kerry immediately runs away, probably bored out of his mind. Lysander's poster was something about how cellphones affect driving, and it was boring enough that I would have rather listened to Mario talk about economics and stocks. It was actually boring enough that I would have rather listened to someone else talk about Mario's project on economics and the stock market, which is saying something. So, Lysander is talking to me, and his eyes aren't leaving my face AT ALL while he was talking, and I keep wanting to look at the poster instead, but he keeps looking at me, and I try to look away, but then I feel weird, because he's still looking at me and talking, and then I basically start internally panicking, because I'm not really that good at reading people, and his eye contact cues aren't fitting in with any of my stored information on what various looks mean, so as soon as Dad wanders over (actually only a minute after Lysander started talking), I mumble something about wanting water and bolt. I meant to say something to Kerry today about feeling badly, but then I forgot
Oh well.

HAHAHAHA,,,it was as funny the third time as it was the first!!!

I don't get why Mario wasn't there if her had a project? I heard a rumor that he may be graduating early? Totally unfounded though...

Ewwww...cellphones and driving sounds really boring...like and 8th grae sci fair project...he couldnt have at least picked something with a complicated name? Like Gretch's AP bio proj? What was that Gretch? Something ossificans progressivia...
If I was in the fair, I would have done like, Trichotillomania (awesome psychological disorder...creepy though...) it would have been better than Lysander's project...

hey tea - who is this Jeff of whom you speak? thought his name was Kerry....hehehe

hahah yeah Lysander is awkward like that, he always makes eye contact. Banae (my neighbor) complains about how awkward he is sometimes....haha. I'm sorry you were subjected to his poster, i bet Kerry just wanted him to feel better about it being so boring. Or maybe he just wanted to escape himself...i can't wait to catch Lysander talking on the phone while driving :)
vicky you need to STOP SPREADING rumors!!! i think i told, like, 4 people that Loco was leaving because you told me that!!

Tamir told me he loved me today....
don't take it out of context though. He hurt his finger in a treadmill related accident and had a giant bandage on it and claimed that he couldn't write, so I had to write his chem homework for him while he dictated. Fortunately, we didn't really have class as Papa Swordfish was absent.
Anyway, after copying out everything and correcting some of it, Mogley (formerly known as Jungle Boy) turned around and said, "I can't believe how nice you are, Jackie, I would never do that for him!"
Me: Yeah I know, Tamir, you definitely owe me one...
Tamir: Okay, as long as you don't look while we do it...
Me: TAMIR! *slams hand on desk* Why do I even help you with ANYTHING?! *Mogley laughs*
Tamir: Jackie, I love you! blahblahblah......
Me: Tamir, how good are you at math?
Tamir proceeds to help me with the SATII packet and actually succeeds. Hope you're not insulted, Tea....
~later~
I pull out a sharpie and ask Tamir if I can draw on his giant bandage. I draw a handlebar mustache so that he can hold his finger under his nose and "go undercover." Fries wrote her initials on it. I drew an angry face on it. Then Tamir stole the marker and while I was talking to Eccentrius, he drew on my knee. In sharpie. On one of my favorite pairs of jeans. GRRRR.

first off-who is this Jeff you speak of? He no longer appears in the post.

also: HAHHAAAAHHA. Your science class sounds like wayyyy too much fun. All we did today was watch Gattaca and listen to Theo go on about how he has to wear clothes all the time and is "having a poster." Far less entertaining, really.

also, I'm glad I don't have trichtillomania. Bald spots do not sound like fun.
